Ria and its customers raise $164,000 for TeletonUSA in support of children with disabilities

Ria has for the fourth year running partnered with nonprofit organization TeletonUSA to help raise funds for children with disabilities.

And through the generosity of our customers in the United States, $129,000 was raised to directly benefit children with cancer, autism, and other neuromusculoskeletal disorders. Additionally, a Corporate Donation of $35,000 was made, bringing the total amount raised to $164,000.

Over 10,000 Agents and company-owned stores in our national network were made available as donation collection points during a month-long campaign which culminated in a 30-hour televised, charity event airing on Univision December 4 and 5.

“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to open our hearts and network for TeletonUSA,” said Ria’s President & CEO, Juan Bianchi. “Since 2012, Ria has had the privilege to serve as a donation collection partner, helping to raise funds for children with disabilities. We are proud to be part of an initiative that gives back to the communities we serve and are always humbled by the generous spirit shown by our customers during this campaign.”

Ria’s Managing Director of the Americas, Rosario Escarpita, along with our VP of Store Operations, Armando Chavez, presented the $35,000 check to TeletonUSA, with Rosario commenting, “This campaign highlights the generosity of our customers and it never ceases to amaze us how much they rally to support the community. TeletonUSA is providing an invaluable service for many children with disabilities and we look forward to supporting them in the years to come.”

TeletonUSA offers a proven and much-needed model of care for children with physical disabilities in the U.S. and the generous spirit of many Ria customers will now allow more children to get the rehabilitation and care they need.”

In 2014, through our customers, Ria raised a total of $149,000 to support the construction of a new rehabilitation center in San Antonio, Texas.
